SEO On-page factors and checklist for your Website or webpages

SEO On-page:- On-page is most important factor of your website or webpage that can affect ranking of your webiste in search engines. You should consider how to optimize your site and what are the factors to get ranking successfully in Search Engines.To take place on the top of search engines, your seo on-page strategy needs to be concentrated, focused and effective. The following on-page checklist shuld help you direct a careful site review, attempting beyond any doubt your SEO endeavors are powerful and capable. Meta Tags and Page Content


Meta Title Tags
Create a unique and informative title tag for each page of your site. The title tag should contain 60-70 characters and should contain one or two keyword phrases. Start the title tag with the key word phrase that is most relevant for the page. Avoid words that aren't keywords (like and, or, the). Your business name does NOT need to be in every single title tag.

META DESCRIPTION

Create a unique and informative meta description for each page of your site. The meta description is what the search engines show in their list of results under your link, so make sure it contains keywords and is enticing. The description should be 160-170 characters long.

META KEYWORDS

In latest SEO strategy, the keywords are not part of the SEO algorithm, it would be a good idea to place 3 to 4 relevant keyword phrases that have to do with the page.

Make sure that the page content contains HEADING tags that have keywords in them.
  • <h1>Most important</h2>
  • <h2>Second most important</h2>
  • <h3>Third most important</h3> 
Make sure that KEYWORD RICH CONTENT is towards the top of your web page.

Put some keywords within the content in <b> or <strong> tags.

Make sure internal hyperlinks contain keywords in the anchor text.

All images should have valid ALT tags, and where possible have the file name be a keyword.

Important On-page Factors

Javascript and css code shuld be in external files
The domain of your website resolves to either www.websitename.com or websitename.com, not both.
Development address of your website resolves to either www.websitename.com or websitename.com
The home page of your website is resolving to the Webisite name www.websitename.com or websitename.com and not to websitename.com/index.html
If the project is a site redesign, the old page URLs redirect to the new page URLs with 301 redirects.
The navigation of your website is done with text links and css, and when possible, include keywords in the navigation
Google analytic should be correctly installed. (Also, filter out the site owner's home and work IPs as well as the web designer.
The account of your website is set up under an email that is a business email, preferably, xyz@yourwebsite.com and not set up under an employee's personal email or your web designer's or SEO company's Google account.)
The HTML and the CSS code of the site templates should be validate (http://validator.w3.org/)
The URLs of your website should be search engine friendly.
Use keywords for file names wherever possible Look at the home page with SEO Browser and make sure that there is text for the search engines to read and links to navigate. http://www.seo-browser.com/index.php
An HTML site map should be linked to from the home page
Flash elements don't inhibit the ability for the search engines to crawl the site.
An XML site map should be generated and submitted to Google.com and yahoo.com
A robots.txt file is in place directing search engine spiders away from pages and directories which are not relevant or which generate duplicate content (such as dynamic inquiry forms or script directories)
Most important SEO Spider pitfalls are: Input Forms, Session ID's in URL, Pages Restricted by Cookies, Frames and Logins
Page file size should be no more than 150 kilobytes (before images, CSS and other attachments)
Make sure there are no more than 100 unique links per page

  1. So great blog..Of course, it has contained one of the most informational points for any website improvement. but I'm confused why you want to have only 100 unique backlinks for any webpage. Does it hurts if cross limits.

    Let me clarify your confusion, having over 100 links a page lead to a penalty. As per the Matt Cutts, Google's head of search spam, explained that the page rank of a page is divided by the number of links on your page. So if page X links to page Y, Z and D, that PageRank is split into three. If you have hundreds of links, it is divided by hundreds, and so forth.
